The Griffiths Seniors Center in Black Diamond are hosting a delicious tea, prepared and served by the Griffiths Ladies, and colourful quilt show all on Saturday, October 1st from 10am to 3pm. There is a $5.00 admission fee which entitles you to view the quilt show and partake in the tea. The tea runs for the length of the show and consists of fruit, veggies, cheese and crackers and deserts. The deserts are mainly pumpkin but they will have a few others.
The last couple of years the quilt show has been successful and last year there was over 100 people in attendance. Draws, door prizes and raffles are made throughout this event.
Proceeds from the show are used to buy sewing supplies for the ladies that make charity quilts. This group of quilters have donated quilts to Rowan House, Pioneer Camp, the hospital and Slave Lake.
The ladies also support Victoria Quilts and had Pat Power in attendance at the show to help raise awareness. This year there will be tickets on sale from the Turner Valley Quilt Guild whereby the proceeds are being donated to Rowan House.
The event also helps to advertise and promote the Senior's Center and it's facilities.
