Before I begin I want to apologize to anyone who I may forget to mention in my thank you. Longview went above and beyond all expectations with the Wild Pink Yonder event and praise just isn't enough. The following are SOME of the people who jumped in and worked endlessly to make the event a total success.
Michele, Tony, Rhoda, Doreen, Ken, Ivor, Lorna, Art, Larry, Chey, Brenda, John, Pam, Rose, Chase, Brennen, Greg, Austin, Paul (Stampede Committee); to the businesses who decorated and came out to join in our pink day and welcome the riders, Longview Jerky Shop who donated to the breakfast, the musicians who provided entertainment: Eva, Bunny, Larry, Chey, Crystal, John, Phil & Ann, as well as all the residents who purchased the PINK HATS & BOOTS. THANK YOU, THANK YOU. We have proved to those who say YOU CAN'T that we certainly CAN and moreover we DID! We painted the Village pink and we raised nearly $3000.00 and all from a little Village that boasts only 340 people. Pat yourselves all on the back and, again, I'm sure I missed someone along the way but please just forgive me, my mind is a little tired!
The Longview Music festival was also a raging success! The weather was incredible, the music lively and the refreshments cold! Gotta love it when things come together.
Now we move towards our HUGE endeavor. Xtreme Longview Makeover is well on it's way. We need people, donations, volunteers willing to work on committees for a few months until this project is done. October 15th is build day so it's not a huge commitment. Please contact Michele at 403-558-2158 or the Village Office at 403-558-3922 for more information. Visit our site at: ltbklongview.blogspot.com. Join in and follow along with us as we move forward to our build day!
September 2nd, 3rd and 4th in Longview at 313 Twin Cities Dr. there will be a yard sale. A section of this yard sale will be by donations and all proceeds from this yard sale section will go to the Let Them Be Kids portion of Xtreme Longview Makeover where the monies will be matched penny for penny. If you have a donation call 815-2713 and if not please plan to drop by and have a look for something you can use or make a donation to the cause.
Thanks and keep watching for updates.
~ Chey
