From The Lions Den

The snow, on October 16th, did it to us again this year - we did not get a chance to rake the leaves in the campgrounds but were able to do some clean up. The water was shut off and all the motorhomes were on their way home or going South for the winter. Our day ended with a  meal of stir fry with garlic shrimp created by Top Chef - Lion Davis Whitehead.
The Town of Turner Valley is having their annual Family New Years Eve on December 31st. The Lions Club donated $1000.00 to help make this a fun night. I attended this celebration last year and had such a good time along with everyone else. It was deathly cold but everyone was out and about, standing around the fire drinking free hot chocolate and eating hot dogs, dancing to the music of the D.J. or taking a hay ride around town. The children were skating on the skating rink. Nine members of the Lions Club will be there to help out in any way we can to make this a great celebration. Be sure to come out as they have a spectacular fire works display and lots of fun things to do.
The Foothills Lions Club generously donated $1500.00 for the purchase of 55 pair of adjustable glasses which will be taken to Bali to help provide better sight for those in need. Lion Anne Granberg, Lion Lona Lineham and Muriel Knowler will be going to Bali in February to distribute these glasses.
Our next Lions Bingo will be held at the Valley Neighbours Club on Friday, November 12th at 6:30 pm.
