Millarville 4-H Multi Club Cooks up their Favourite Foods

(Page 23)

By: Jessica Bryk
Hello everyone. My name is Jessica Bryk and I'm one of the new club reporters for the Millarville 4-H Multi Club. On October 17th the club got together for their second meeting at the Square Butte Hall. We cooked up some of our favourite foods.
Here is a list of what we made: Denae - Cupcakes, Jenissa - Hamburgers, Shayna - Tacos, Jade - Supreme Nachos and Cheese, Katelyn - Lemon Crepes, Jessica - Speedy Indoor Smores, Elise-Cheese Buns, May - Greek Salad, Jacqueline - Frosted Flower Cake, Haley - Pumpkin Loaf, Kashly - Stuffed Baked Potatoes, Madison - Cheese Pizza and Sarah made Bacon Cheddar Cornmeal Muffins. Everything was delicious!
We did learn that whisks can break. Haley was mixing her pumpkin loaf batter and broke one of our club whisks. There were pieces everywhere! Luckily she didn't get them in her batter!  We have to be careful when you are mixing thick stuff. At the end of the meeting Haley said that she learned that pumpkin loaf is really thick.
At the last meeting all of the new members got to tie-die an apron and we received them at this meeting. They are so cool! Everyone did an awesome job!
Our next meeting will be on November 14th, and our theme will be Christmas Dinner. Our leaders had us pick a piece of paper from a bowl that told us what dish we were responsible to find a recipe for. This is what we got: Denae: dessert, Jenissa: potato dish, Shayna: dessert, Jade (not going to be there), Katelyn: desert, Jessica: vegetable dish, Elise: vegetarian main dish, May: appetizer, Jacqueline: vegetable dish, Haley: turkey main dish, Kashley: appetizer, Madison: appetizer, Sarah: ham main dish. The last two meetings were delicious so hopefully this one will be too!
