Millarville-Stockland 4-H Beef Club Starts Another Year

Our reorganizational meeting was held on October 13th at the Millarville Race Track Hall. So far, we have 10 members in our club. Eight returning and two new ones. Suzon Watkins and Susan Jeffery are our leaders again this year, with Arlene Visser as our assistant leader and Janette Bamford and PJ Thomas as project leaders. We have two projects that kids can join - Beef (where you need a steer or female) and Vet Science (where no animal is needed).
A new year means a new executive. The following were voted in for the 2010 - 2011 year: President - Ben Arkes, Vice President - Brent Arkes, Secretary - Carlie Meyer, Treasurer - Wilson MacDonald, Club Reporter - Hunter Egeland, Historian - Shaelyn Brogden and Phoning Committee - Connor and Shaelyn Brogden.
We discussed the upcoming year and all the events that will happen.
Parents signed up for all the different committees and we even started talking about our Christmas Party!
Our next event is weigh-in November 6th at Black Diamond Land and Cattle, from 9:30am to 1:00pm. This will be the last day for joining our club. Please call Susan Jeffery at 403-931-3132 or Suzon Watkins at 403-931-3752 for more information.
