Cole Is Making Progress

On August 1st, 2010 tragedy was the furthest thing from 22-year-old Cole Irvine's mind when he ran down the beach and dove into the water at Tie Lake. Cole shattered two vertebrae and changed his life forever.
He now lives at his mother, Shirley’s home with daily professional home care. Shirley’s home still requires some modifications to make things easier for Cole’s care and comfort and his battle and journey to recovery remains daunting. Everything involved in Cole’s care, and continued progress, requires major $$ and unfortunately the health care system does not cover very much of it.
Several fund raisers over the last two years have been an enormous help to Cole and his mother, Shirley, as they have struggled to come to terms with his paralysis and recovery.
A recent trip to Mexico to undergo stem cell surgery was a success, but more surgery is required.
“He’s making progress and it’s amazing to see on a daily basis,” said Lori Collins, close family friend and owner of Cougar’s Bar & Grill in Turner Valley.
Last Saturday the 2nd FUNdraising Rodeo was held at Millarville Race Track and once again family, friends and strangers came together to help this amazing young man.
If you missed this event and can in some way help this family please call Ivy at 403-830-6533 or drop a contribution in to the John Cole Irvine Trust Account at ATB Financial in Black Diamond.
Every little bit helps.
