From The Lions Den ~ BBQs - A Warm Thank You

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our “Fall Fling BBQ” on September 3rd. The weather co-operated, our chefs dished out a delicious meal and the guests were well entertained by Dwain & Kelly. The lucky ticket holder for the 50/50 draw was Eileen Brownell. The proceeds from the successful event, in the amount of $1,000 was donated to the Rowan House Emergency Shelter (for women).
The Foothills Lions Club Highway 5km Clean-up Committee have teamed up with the Parks and Recreation Fall River Clean-up Committee for the “Project Green Day”, September 17th. The volunteers – adults and students were treated to coffee, juice and goodies early AM and to a burger/hotdog BBQ upon their return at noon, hosted by the Foothills Lions Club.
The Foothills Lions Club meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month (except July/Aug), 7:00pm at the Turner Valley Legion. Individuals interested in becoming part of a worthy community service club are certainly welcome to attend a meeting session or call the membership chairman, Don Ward, at 403-931-3587.
