Once again the Longview Christmas Party and light up which was held on December 4th was a great success. Santa arrived and visited with the children, everyone enjoyed a fantastic meal, carols were sung and the trees outside the Village Office were lit up and decorated with outdoor ornaments. Yes the Spirit of Christmas is definitely alive and well in Longview!
The raffle draw for the Memorial /Serenity Garden took place on Sunday, December 4th as well. Santa graciously helped draw the winners. The following is a list of winners : Coral Cennon - Calgary, Judy Yorke – Okotoks, Susan Braun – Millarville, Waylon Helman – Okotoks, David Magrum - Calgary and Wilma Chalmers – Turner Valley. The Organizing committee would like to thank all those who supported this fund raising activity. Approximately $8000.00 was raised towards this initiative. Thank you to all committee members for their hard work.
December 23rd will see the Stampede Committee hosting another Christmas in the Park with smokies, hot chocolate and coffee provided. There will be wagon rides, skating at the rink, a huge bonfire and Santa will be stopping by for a quick visit during the evening.
The Village Office will be closed from noon on the 23rd of December until January 3rd. Cheques may be dropped off during post office hours, dropped thorough the slot in the door and will be deposited on Friday, December 30th.
