Rowan House: Heartwarming Fundraising

Catch up on the progress of the new Rowan House Emergency Shelter and their fundraising efforts.

Soup Sisters at Diamond Willow Retreat: Here's an idea for a group gathering - grab your sorority sisters, your book club or your yoga friends and book a spot at the January 29th Diamond Valley Soup Sisters! Join us to make some nurturing and nourishing soups with Chef Darren Nixon of Divine. A lovely afternoon ending with salad, soup and a sip or two of wine! The soup is taken to Rowan House for women and children to enjoy.
Blue Christmas Productions held its annual Christmas Charity Concert Tuesday, November 29th, 2011 at the Jubilee Auditorium and has already secured $10,000 for Rowan House Emergency Shelter. Rowan House is just one of 11 organizations across Alberta who will be receiving funding from the concert's revenues and sponsors. “We are very grateful to be chosen to receive funding this year,” says Sherrie Botten, Executive Director, Rowan House, “The funding will go towards our new shelter, which will be opening in 2012, allowing us to house more women and children in the Foothills area.”
Rowan House is pleased to announce the walls are up and the roof is on our new facility. We are still looking for financial support for the fencing, landscaping and inside furnishings. The community tradespeople and suppliers have been tremendously generous. We want to say a huge Thank You to all who have come forward to support the Rowan House cause. We appreciate it very much. We plan on offering our supporters a peek inside early in the New Year. Watch for a date!
