No Need To Look Far For Fun On Family Day ~ Diamond Valley Scavenger Hunt

Have you made plans with your family this Monday? Better check this out....

The towns of Turner Valley and Black Diamond are getting prepared for another fun Family Day in their communities. Local businesses will participate in an adrenalin-pumping, morning Scavenger Hunt, after which families and friends will be restored with a fun hot dog lunch. The day continues with a music-filled afternoon of ice-skating in the great outdoors. Skaters will be joined by firefighters from Turner Valley for a rousing game of broomball on half of the rink.
It all takes place on Monday, February 20th with the Flare 'n Derrick Community Centre being the event's hub. Registration for the Scavenger Hunt begins at 10:00am. To make it fair, all contestants will start their hunt at the same hour of 11:00. Lunch will be served at noon along with prizes awarded to the 2012 Scavenger Hunt winners. Then, at 1:00pm, the Turner Valley Outdoor Skating Rink will open its doors to an enthusiastic crowd for the Skating Party. It all ends at 4:00pm, in plenty of time to head back home before sunset for dinner.
“This event is open to everyone,” reminds Glenn Baxter, fire chief of the Turner Valley Fire Department, the host of the Skating Party. “Bring the family, bring a friend, the more the merrier,” he adds.
“You'll need to 'get your game on' to win bragging rights for the Scavenger Hunt,” says Hazel Martin, the event's co-organizer. “This year's clues could stump even the best sleuth,” she says with a mischievous smile.
Local businesses are participating by providing clues, some prizes and a few are acting as landmarks for the hunt.
Diamond Valley's Family Day Scavenger Hunt and Skating Party are presented by the Town of Turner Valley and the Town of Black Diamond. Organizers remind residents to dress for the weather to better enjoy all the fun activities planned for the day.
